One of the biggest challenges that work at home people end up encountering is a sense of isolation that can set in.  There are no coworkers.  There are no company luncheons or functions.  The water cooler is silent and the coffee pot is not a place where people say "hi" any longer. Fortunately, the self-employed person has other places he or she can turn.  Business or life coaches can provide all three of these functions.  You can usually meet with them over the internet or over the phone.  These are not therapists--they aren't there to solve your psychological issues.  These are, however, highly successful people who are prepared to help you see the extent of your full potential.  Once you see what they are capable of seeing then you become capable of bringing that potential into being. • You've hit a plateau.  You know you want to grow, but you don't know how
• You're struggling with limiting beliefs or negative emotions such as fear or doubt and these struggles are preventing you from putting your best foot forward
• You've hit a brick wall of some sort recently.  You need a sounding board to help you work through a problem.

What should you look for in a coach?

• The coach should be a successful business person in his own right.
• The coach should be confident and positive.
• The coach needs to have been at it awhile--anybody can jump on the internet these days and call themselves a life coach.  At the very least you want someone who used to be a talented manager
• The coach can clearly explain his methods to you and can help set some clear goals for the coaching session.
