Regaining the Fire

No matter what people tell you, there will come a time in your business where the passion just is not there.  You'll find setbacks.  There will be days where you don't want to do it.  There will be days that are every bit as frustrating as the old cubicle job. Those moments are moment-of-truth moments.

They are the moments in which you get to decide if the time with your family and the autonomy are worth whatever you're going through today.  Whether the autonomy, the self-direction, and the ability to follow your passion matter enough to keep going through whatever your problem today is.

The problems can be anything from a client who gets nasty to a cash flow that isn't flowing--that's where persistence comes in. If you push through the issues, chances are you're going to come out of the other side.  And because you've come out of the other side, the fire will burn even brighter than before.  You'll know that you can come through these problems again and you'll know how to handle them.

A great part about picking a business which comes with coaches and mentors is the ability to go to others who have faced similar situations to find out how they handled them.  It means you're not working in the typical isolation of the home based business professional.  You have someone to bounce ideas off of, someone to call when you're stuck.  And if you haven't chosen a home based business opportunity yet, that kind of leadership is a factor you might consider looking for.

They call it being in business "for" yourself without being in business "by" yourself. You don't always have to reinvent the wheel.  There are some entrepreneurs who are all about reinventing the wheel--that's what they do.  That's where they get their drive.  Others express their passion through tried and true methods.

Knowing your own personality will help you know what will benefit you most. It's not a paradise--it's just wonderful in its own way.  Don't get crushed due to unrealistic expectations.  Don't think that it's going to be perfect each and every time.  It's not--it's just going to be yours.
