On Understanding the New Marketing
We've covered, before, the ways marketing
has changed and shifted from the model we all grew up in to the model that we
see now. It's a little bit difficult to master. Watch the video below, by
Seth Godin, who is pretty much the master of permission-based marketing--the
founder of it.
When you're building your e-mail lists or
attracting traffic to your blog or selling any product you need to be thinking
about these things. You may not be the product developer though... And
that's fine. Understanding what makes your product remarkable is just as good as
coming up with a remarkable new product. If you can communicate that
single fact, that fact of why your product deserves to get talked about, then
you will go farther.
After all, Wonder Bread didn't invent sliced
bread...
